Mar Roxas, Why Wowowee?

Senator Mar Roxas and ABS-CBN News Senior Correspondent, Korina Sanchez, guested in the highly-watched noontime game show, Wowowee, last April 25th to tell everyone they're getting married. So what's the big deal?

Senator Mar Roxas belongs to a highly respected political party, The Liberal Party. The same party the late Senator Ninoy Aquino belonged to when he was assasinated by unknown opponents during the Marcos administration (1965-1986). Some of us may not see through this nostalgic appearance of the senator on this television show but I will ask you these questions:

If this is not a form of campaign...
1) Why guest in the most viewed noontime show on television?
2) Why in a game show? Why not in a Showbiz Entertainment show like SNN?
3) What is the original format of the Game show? A talk show or a game show? It's a Game Show isn't it? For a moment there I thought Wowowee host, Willie Revillame, took over the tsismis entertainment hosting of Boy Abunda.
4) Will his guesting do the country good? Will it promote jobs? Will it raise money for the poor?

I pose this question to really know what his intentions are. I also want to know what ABS-CBN's stake is to this recent stunt by the couple. For all its intent and purpose, I think it is self-centered, egoistic, and heading towards the wrong direction.

If he is claiming to be the better leader to become the next president of the Philippines, I expect him to be more circumspect of the manner to which he promotes himself to the public. I expect the leader to be more forthcoming and candid.

Let's not insult the sensibilities of the Filipinos just because your guesting will create the 'kilig' factor. What's next after that? What's the context of your guesting? What then? We're talking about the future of our country not ABS-CBN News ratings, not your personal ambition.
